XLVets Ireland is a network of 55 independently owned veterinary practices, built by members and for members. The network’s success has been enabled by its sound organisational processes and member support, including close collaboration and enterprise-led workforce development.
To strengthen the value it delivers to its members, XLVets and its training subsidiary, XLVets Skillnet, needed a reliable technology solution that would allow them to centralise information, create an accessible repository of knowledge and resources, deliver bespoke training programs, and facilitate networking opportunities for its members.
As part of this company intranet solution, XLVets also needed the ability to quickly and effectively invoice end users for completed training courses and issue certificates for program completion, along with other automated digital filing capabilities.

This infrastructure project focused first on digitising paper-based processes to manage them through an automated system—while also enhancing security of this information through the intranet site. All digitised documentation was migrated to SharePoint and made available to members. Meanwhile, Microsoft Teams was implemented as the platform for delivering all training programs.
Codec also implemented Microsoft Power Automate to generate invoices and deliver them to customers upon completion of training courses. These automation capabilities were further extended to deliver earned training certificates—resulting in a better, more responsive customer experience for users while also reducing XLVets’ administrative workload.
The combination of Microsoft Office 365 solutions with Power Automate delivered a number of direct benefits to XLVets Ireland’s day-to-day operations, supporting thousands of hours of professional training for members while streamlining the billing and certification process.
